The Projektträger im Deutschen Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (PT-DLR, Project Management Agency - part of the German Aerospace Center) is the owner of the information submitted to this website.
PT-DLR collects personal information, when users sign the open letter (such as name, organisation, E-mail adress).This information will be used for the purpose of the open letter initiative only. DLR does not sell nor rent its website users' names, addresses, email addresses or other personal information.
When signing the open letter you can also agree that PT-DLR may contact you by E-mail to keep you updated on news connected to the open letter initiative and the "European Alliance for the Social Sciences and Humanities".

Data are also collected and exchanged every time a website is visited. The PT-DLR automatically collects and stores data that your browser transfers to our server. This includes:
- your internet browser type/version
- the operating system being used
- the loaded web page
- the previously visited page (referrer URL)
- time of the server request.
The PT-DLR analyzes this data solely for statistical purposes in order to measure the demand for PT-DLR web offerings. The PT-DLR is not able to trace this data back to specific individuals. These data are not merged with other data sources. IP-Numbers are only used for data transmission and are not stored after a session has been finished. Data that were logged during access to the PT-DLR 's web offering are only transferred to third parties in so far as we are obliged to do so by law or under a court order. Data will also be transferred in the case of attacks on the PT-DLR internet infrastructure that are subject to legal or criminal prosecution. These data will not be transferred for any other reason.
The PT-DLR uses so-called session cookies. Session cookies are small information units that a provider stores in the active memory of the visiting user's computer. A randomly generated, unique ID number, a so-called session ID, is stored in a session cookie. A cookie also contains information as to its origin and the period of time it is to reside on a computer. These cookies cannot store any further types of data. The session cookies used by the PT-DLR are deleted as soon as you end a session. Your shopping basket is automatically emptied once the browser has been closed or another page has been loaded. The contents of your shopping basket must be selected anew, should you end a session without completing your order transaction.
PT-DLR may disclose personal information when required by law or under a court order or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law or comply with a legal process served on us. Data will also be transferred in the case of attacks on the PT-DLR internet infrastructure that are subject to legal or criminal prosecution.

Right of information
You have the right to demand information on data that has been saved about you personally as well as to know where the data originated from, who has received it and the purposes for storing it. The PT-DLR's internet editor staff can provide you with information on the stored data. You can address any questions or grievances you may have to the DLR's Data Protection Commissioner (Datenschutz[at]dlr.de).
Your contact information and profile will be deleted from the database if you inform the PT-DLR accordingly.
